Awesome! Today my class had a debate about who founded Singapore during history class. The class is being conducted by Mr. sng our history teacher. He was a fellow Victorrian too. He has since come to Victoria to teach history before he goes to national service (NS). He is very friendly and kind. However, when he gets serious he would talk in a very stern voice forcing us to keep quiet so that we can pay attention. During class, he sometimes side tracks a little. Showing us some other videos related to our syllabus. This way, we can learn and understand history easier.
About the debate, three students had been chosen to be each of the three representatives to might have founded Singapore. This three persons are Raffles, Farquar and Crawford. Varun was chosen as Crawfod, Wen Rui was chosen as Raffles and Peng Sheng was chosen as Farquar. It did not start that well at first. Everything was so confusing at the start. However, after a while it soon settles down. Though it did not sound like a real debate.
First it was wen rui who had to fend himself if he was the founder of Singapore. He did quite well reading off the text book. Then it was Peng Sheng’s turn. He did not know what to say. Kenneth had to volunteer to help him. I could tell he was well prepared. He also assisted Wen Rui and Varun. As both of them also did not know wad to say, he played the roll of three persons. It was kind of funny to have a one man debate.
